New Online Program with Crown College

As we all know, the world has changed immensely over the past year. Global Partners in Hope is doing all that we can do to change with it so we can continue to bring hope to communities around the world that need it. With that being said, a new opportunity has come up that would allow us to continue to bring leadership development to China without physically being in China.

Crown College, a partner of GPiH since the start, has now implemented an online degree program that allows for the college to partner with other countries. How it works is through a Learning Management System which is an online degree program that Crown would host for a partner. The partner would have the ability to upload all of their content and curriculum and Crown would manage the platform and award the degree or certificate when the student completes the program. The program is around 8 weeks and very flexible with 6 different start times, which makes it an incredibly easy to access program that many around the world would benefit from.

Dr. Scott Moats, Board Member of GPiH and Provost of Crown College, brought up this opportunity during GPiH’s last board meeting in September, so it is a fairly new idea but GPiH is eager to get started. The main point of engagement of this program for GPiH would be in China, especially since we cannot travel there and cannot host in person workshops or seminars for the foreseeable future. Essentially Crown College would work alongside Jon and Peggy Sperling, GPiH In-Country Directors Asia, to implement their various training programs into the Learning Management System which would then be easily accessed by people in China. This is a huge step in the right direction to continue to bring hope and leadership development to China.

With all that happened at the beginning of the year, it is definitely hard for Global Partners in Hope to be patient. With international travel being shut down and the Sperlings safely out of China, we wondered what was next for our leadership programs. We knew we couldn’t wait for the world to open back up, we needed to continue our mission no matter the circumstances. This online program through Crown College is exactly what we needed to move forward in China while international travel is not an option. We are thrilled to see the impact this program will have and how many people we will be able to reach in the near future.
